(aka"El Site FAQ")

* What's this site about?

"Say Anything" is about my favorite J-rock artists. J-rock has greatly influenced the way I appreciate music, among other things, and I guess it's high time I made my own altar to it.

This is my very first attempt at publishing a site I've actually completed. I've needed a reason to live. ^^

* What is "J-rock"?

I've tried to make an article on J-rock for this site, but it turned out to be more subjective than I would like. You can still see it here, if you're up to it. I'll probably advertise it more aggressively when I think it deserves the attention.

Basically, "J-rock" is short for "Japanese rock" -- the way "J-pop" means "Japanese pop."

I must profess that I am interested in J-rock not mainly because the music interests me (though it does, oh boy, it does), but because I am interested in its impact on the various cultures that have come to accept it as a legitimate popular art form.

History has, in fact, proven that its effect on Japanese youths is no less than profound (May 1998: three Japanese youths committed suicide, following the death of X Japan's guitarist hide; other unsuccessful suicides of an indeterminate number have also been reported). How much more powerful can it get? How great a hold shall it have on future generations? ...Questions like these pop into my head when there's nothing else for me to think about.

* Why name the site "Say Anything"?

'Coz I'm orally retentive in real life and this webpage allows me to be as obnoxious as I want to be to as many strangers as I can handle...

'Sides, "Say Anything" is one of my all-time favorite Japanese songs, sung by one of my all-time favorite Japanese rock bands.

* Kay, so...what's in it?

Well, there's where you are...X marks the spot...there's also the Updates section, which speaks for itself...

...and then the Artists section, which houses the shrines to the four J-rock groups I have been waiting a long time to pay homage to. Some pictures and info there, but mostly my opinions on their individual imagery and performance tactics.

The Top 10 Favorites section is where I get to rant about my personal favorite songs, per artist. The contents of that section are my _personal_ opinions and have NOT been taken from any official poll.

The Miscellaneous section contains speculative fiction and other genki stuff. No fan art yet, but hoping to be able to put some up eventually. ^_^

Oh by the way, forgive the all-caps, please, this is just to catch attention: HOVER YOUR MOUSIES OVER EACH IMAGE. I enjoyed myself with the "alt" tags while making this site and I want people to take advantage of that. ^_^

* I've read the profiles. I understand why the zodiac signs, but why do you have to put in the blood types?

Some people believe that blood type influences a person's behavior and overall outlook in life. Care to be open-minded? Looky here for a short writeup regarding the different personalities according to blood type.

* How come this site is so small?

I don't own any original J-rock stuff (my money problems never go away). So I don't have anything to share except what I have to say, which is painfully little, if you sift through the BS.

In fact, most of the images and information here have been stolen from other sites.

I've basically glomped all my J-rock images into one archive, which I began to build a long time ago. So the credits I can still give, I give by memory. Anyway I'm not going to have a gallery or anything of the sort, so I won't be showcasing any stolen property.

To those whose hard work I am feeding off, please, PLEASE accept my humble apologies. -_-

* Are contributors welcome?

Sure! Specially if the contributions are in the form of monetary compensation! But please contact me via email BEFORE sending your stuff to know if I'm still around, or if I have once more drifted into oblivion, as I am prone to do when compelled to make money...

* Can I link your site to mine?

By all means! You don't even need my permission! You can be a site reviewing bad pages on the Web and I wouldn't care! Link exchanges are also good. Regarding this, a"Say Anything" animated banner is forthcoming.

* You mean to tell me you did this all by yourself?

HAH! I wish. Thanks go to my sister Lyn for her invaluable help with the color schemes and the coding and the layout -- basically everything, dearest. There's also Dondi, my DHTML guru, for help on the lefthand menu. And of course, there's Daryl-chan, my inspiration. :)
